who am I?

Sarah Perkins is a 25-year-old LA-based, New Hampshire-born, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Raised in New England - a hub for various music festivals, competitions, choirs, and concerts - she’s lived a musical life since childhood. 

 

From a kid obsessed with musicals, to a classically trained vocalist, to a graduate with a major in songwriting and a minor in music production at Berklee College of Music, she’s mastered a clear voice that resonates in both sound and meaning. Now residing on the west coast, she seeks to bring that music to the people who need to hear it.

 

With the release of her debut single, ‘Again?’, she’s put the inner workings of her brain and heart out into the world, in the form of a song. It explores the deep depths of mental struggles through the harmony of acoustic guitar and piano - a cry out for help and a sigh when that help doesn’t come. If you like acoustic guitars and sobbing in your car, this one is for you.

 

Through the journey of rebuilding her mental health, working on her relationship with herself and others, making sure to keep it unserious 80% of the time, and everything in between, Sarah’s artistry conveys it all. The versatility of her music was born of her inherent need for honesty and self reflection; still, in spite of the serious themes her songs may tackle, she always preserves her light, the carefree joy at the center of who she is.

 

From vulnerable lyrics and stories, to complex, introspective harmonies, Sarah continues to seek out human connection and comfort through the songs she writes, bringing her sincerity, as well as distinctive voice and message, to each one of her projects. Her latest single, "wanna be her", is out now! Taking a dip into a more edgy, dense sound, Sarah is has entered her rocker girl era with this indie / pop rock hit about love, loss, and jealousy.
